Meet the PCD Club Team: Leon Peskett

Where are you from?

I'm originally from Margate in Kent but moved to Brighton in 2014 to study at the University of Sussex.

You've just started an apprenticeship programme with PCD; what's been 1) most enjoyable and 2) most challenging so far?

I've only been here for two weeks so far but most enjoyable has probably been just getting stuck in on some in-progress projects, such as helping source footage and b-roll for videos and updating content in the membership brochure. Most challenging has probably been trying to learn to get my head around all the new systems and services that the company uses for workflow.

Why do you do what you do?

It developed as a logical progression of some of the skills and interests I developed while at university. I've always enjoyed more creative work but I'm terrible at drawing so doing something where I get to design and create things without needing a steady hand is perfect.

If you could do another job for just one day, what would it be?

I would probably be an astronaut for the day. I think it would be amazing to spend the day in space but I think the realities of living like that for months and years at a time would eventually get to me. Also I think I'm definitely not smart enough to complete any of the complicated scientific research they have to do while they're up there, but a day of floating around would be great fun.

Hidden talent?

I wouldn't say it's really a hidden talent but I play the guitar and sing in a band.

Motto or personal mantra?

I don't know if I would class it as a motto but I like to try and inject a bit of personality into everything I do.
