Exciting times ahead at leading Cheshire based tax consultancy

Fast-growing Cheshire based tax consultancy has announced plans to open a new office in Manchester Spinningfields in January.

Angela Wood, Managing Director, confirmed that opening an office in the city centre was seen as an "obvious next move" for the business, which currently employs 14 staff at its offices in Cheshire and London.

Mrs Wood said that having undergone a period of rapid growth the firm has big ambitions, and the addition of a Manchester office reflects those ambitions. "As we look to expand and grow the business further, we are hoping that as well as helping to raise our profile in the North West, a Manchester office will assist us in what is currently a very competitive recruitment marketplace".

An ever-increasing tax burden being placed on Britain's small businesses and their owners, means that demand for ETC's services is on the rise, and the business has trebled its client numbers in the last year alone. Due to this period of rapid growth, the firm has taken on a number of new staff, many of whom have joined from much larger firms such as KPMG, Grant Thornton, and RSM.

Mrs Wood explained that, the new work the firm had secured was spread across a wide range of business and private client tax issues and opportunities. Many enquiries have an overseas angle - whether that might be because they come from non-domiciled individuals or from an SME business owner looking at trading overseas, but the firm also receives enquiries from property investors and developers, as well as those investing in cryptocurrency, and individuals facing an HMRC enquiry of investigations; to name but a few examples of the type of work now being undertaken by ETC Tax.

The wide variety of work being completed by ETC's tax advisers has also led to a second significant development for the firm, namely its recent change of name and rebrand. Founder and Technical Director, Andy Wood, commented that, the type of work undertaken by the firm, (which was previously known as Enterprise Tax Consultants), had changed a lot since the business was founded in 2013. "The huge demand for high quality affordable tax advice means that we have found ourselves offering a much wider range of tax services than we had previously anticipated. We felt that our name no longer reflected who we were as a business, and the sheer volume and type of variety of tax work we now undertake".

Andy explained "the last year has been something of a landmark for our business, both in terms of the volume of work which we've handled and the calibre of staff who we've been able to attract".

"We obviously want to build on the success we have had so far, and we see the combined effect of both a new brand for our business and a Manchester office as being crucial to that continued success".
