An interview with Tess Price

What do you do for Virteffic?

In my role as founder, managing director, and company secretary at Virteffic, I do a lot of different things. During the last three years, the company has grown significantly, and we are constantly updating our internal policies, providing training and adjusting our procedures. I collaborate very closely with the team who assist businesses of all sizes. With years of experience behind them, our team of experienced professionals can serve a wide range of clients, including trust and fund businesses, wealth advisors, and family offices. Our services include secretarial support, corporate governance, administration and training courses, and we specialise in drafting minutes. As part of my role, I support our client's board members, provide guidance on corporate governance, training, and I also draft and proofread minutes.

What do you love most about your role?

The flexibility and independence. The Virteffic team is completely in control of their own hours, whichis definitely the part of the role I love the most. I left a position as a regulated director to gain more independence and flexibility with my working hours and Virteffic has absolutely delivered that for me.I also love the variety of tasks and the people (both the team and our clients).

What has been your greatest achievement?

Founding Virteffic is definitely up there as my greatest achievement... so far! In 2020, we all saw significant changes as we adapted our work and home lives due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Personally, I had time to do a lot of thinking. I had a really good job where I worked hard, and I had created a very strong career path for myself. However, being a regulated director was not a role suitable for me. I have always wanted to someday be self-employed and I wanted a more flexible role to fit in with my love of travelling. I decided to take a leap and it was the best thing I have ever done. Virteffic let me use my background and skills to realise my dream. Ultimately, I am driven by a desire to be excellent and thrive working in an inspiring place, promoting positive change and development.

What type of intermediaries do you tend to work with?

Since the launch, Virteffic has onboarded a number of clients and gone from strength to strength through the growth of our team. As a professional support team, we assist businesses of all sizes, including large regulated firms (funds and trust companies, wealth advisors and insurance companies), legal firms, SMEs and charities. I regularly meet with clients and intermediaries and attend board and committee meetings across the Channel Islands.

Why did you join PCD?

I’m a big believer in building connections and supporting other businesses and PCD facilitates excellent networking opportunities which allow me to do this, whilst developing my network in the Channel Islands and further afield. I’ve already made some fantastic contacts at PCD events, the knowledge and insight you can gain from industry peers is invaluable, and I look forward to continuing to build on these.
