An Interview with Chris Cameron

1. What do you do for Crestbridge?

I joined Crestbridge in 2019 as an Associate Director in the Family Office Services team, having spent more than 15 years working in the trust business of a major global bank, and became a Director within the Group earlier this year.

2. What do you love most about your role?

The client interaction. Building long-lasting relationships with clients is an aspect of my role that I really enjoy. Our team places a huge emphasis on the importance of taking the time to get to know our clients and their goals so that we can work with them and their advisors to implement and manage tailored solutions.

I also enjoy the team aspect of my role, working with great mentors and also being able to lead a team and pass on lessons I have learnt through my own career. In my role I have the ability to make a difference not just for clients but for our team as well and that means a great deal to me.

3. How has your business adapted in light of COVID-19?

Easily!

Our IT infrastructure was ahead of the game and allowed us to react swiftly to the change in working requirements. That put us in a good position to have a seamless transition to working from home and then back to working in the office again.

While our team was working from home, we held regular calls and virtual meetings with colleagues at all levels and in all jurisdictions to ensure that they felt secure, involved and valued while continuing to provide the top-quality service our clients are used to.

During the work from home period we also took the opportunity to refurbish our office, creating a new open-plan staff collaboration area, which has proved incredibly popular. It meant that when were able to offer a phased return to the office, our staff could see how much we value a collaborative, one team approach.

4. What has been your greatest achievement? Personal or professional.

Back in 2010 I had a bike accident in which I broke my back in four places; after three months of bedrest I was able to start the journey of getting upright. It took months of hard work and determination before I was able to return to work. This taught me not only to appreciate what I have but the importance of being resilient. Life will be challenging at times and when it is you need to rise to that challenge.

5. On a weekend, I am most likely found...

With my kids, out and about enjoying the Jersey coastline, either in the sea or walking the cliff paths.
